14,027 fans were treated to a fine game at Kauffman Stadium as only one run
separated the combatants at game's end. The Oakland A's won by the slimmest
of margins, 7 to 6.

Oakland had 5 runs cross the plate in the top of the 5th inning when they came
up with 4 base hits. The highlight belonged to Josh Reddick who silenced the
stadium when he belted a three-run homer. Kansas City had a chance in the
9th but they came up short.

Tommy Milone(3-0) allowed 4 runs in 6 innings, and picked up the victory.
Milone got help from Grant Balfour who earned his 7th save. Felipe
Paulino(0-1) was the loser. He saw his ERA jump from 1.50 to 5.06 as gave up
5 runs in 4 and 2/3 innings.

'I just wanted to give my team a chance to win.' said Milone, 'I got burned on
a couple of pitches. But we won the game, and that's all that matters.'
