Miguel Cabrera had 4 hits and 2 RBI as the Detroit Tigers defeated the
Cleveland Indians 8 to 5 at Comerica Park.
 
Cabrera had a good day at the plate.  He ripped a base-knock in the 1st
inning, cleared the fences for a two-run home run in the 3rd inning, banged
out a single in the 5th inning and doubled in the 7th inning.  Cleveland
tried unsuccessfully to come back in the 9th.  
 
Jacob Turner(1-0) got the win allowing 2 runs in 7 and 2/3 innings. Jose
Valverde got the save, his 4th.  Jeanmar Gomez(0-1) was hit with the loss.
He was not very effective, surrendering 5 runs in 2 innings.  
 
Detroit now has a record of a division leading 12-4.  With the loss, Cleveland
has a record of 5-5 lately, 11-5 overall.
