Justin Verlander reeled off a total of 10 strikeouts and center fielder Austin
Jackson blasted a homerun and had 2 RBI at Camden Yards where the Detroit
Tigers beat the Baltimore Orioles 9 to 7.
 
Verlander(5-3) pitched a solid game.  He went 8 innings surrendering 7 hits
and 2 walks.  Detroit out-hit Baltimore for the game, 14 hits to 8.  
 
Drew Smyly gained credit for his 3rd save.  Francisco Rodriguez(0-1) was
charged with the loss in relief.  He pitched 2 and 1/3 innings allowing 2
hits and 1 walk.
 
'I had my good stuff today.' Verlander said. 'As the game went along I started
to get the feeling that I was going to strike out a bunch of hitters.'
