Designated hitter Geovany Soto smacked 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI and Yu Darvish
dominated striking out 10 New York (AL) batters at Rangers Ballpark as the
Texas Rangers beat the New York (AL) Yankees by the count of 7 to 1.
 
Soto provided much of the offense.  He belted a three-run homer in the 1st
inning and delivered a solo blast in the 6th inning.  Texas had a total of 9
hits for the game.  
 
Darvish(5-0) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 1 run. Phil
Hughes(0-2) was the losing pitcher.  He served up 4 homeruns in his 5 and 1/3
innings.  
 
When asked about his strikeout total for the game, Darvish offered, 'The fan's
really got into it.  It is fun to see them tally up the strikeout totals up
there in the stands.  Fortunately, I kept them busy this afternoon - of
course, it would be all for naught without the 'W'.'
