Shortstop Eduardo Nunez went yard and had 3 RBI as the New York (AL) Yankees
topped the Texas Rangers by a score of 4 to 3 at Yankee Stadium.
 
New York (AL) won the game with a run in the bottom of the 8th inning.  After
an out was recorded, Vernon Wells lined a one-base hit.  Nunez came to the
plate and drew a walk.  After another out, Chris Stewart then laced a
base-knock scoring the run.  New York (AL) banged out 8 hits on the
afternoon.  
 
Mariano Rivera(1-0) was the winner allowing 1 run in 1 inning. Rivera got
relief help from David Huff who gained credit for his 1st save.  Tanner
Scheppers(1-3) took the loss in relief.
