The deciding run was scored by Cleveland in the bottom of the 9th. Yan Gomes banged out a single. Asdrubal Cabrera dug into the batters box next, but he struck out. Lonnie Chisenhall then delivered a one-base hit. Mike Aviles was up next and he drew a walk to load the bases. Michael Bourn was next to the plate, but was promptly struck out. Santana joined his teammates in the uprising and lined a base-hit resulting in a mighty exciting win for Cleveland and the 17,266 home town fans in attendance. Cleveland had 9 hits for the afternoon while New York (AL) had 5. The win went to Cody Allen(2-3) who allowed 1 run in 1 inning. David Robertson(0-3) was charged with the loss in relief.
