Dan Haren retired 10 batters on strikeouts and Kendrys Morales blasted a
homerun and had 3 RBI as the Los Angeles(AL) Angels defeated the Seattle
Mariners by the score of 8 to 1 at SAFECO Field.
 
Morales was a thorn in the side of the hometown fans as he enjoyed a fine day
at their team's expense.  He banged out a single in the 1st inning, doubled
in the 5th inning and belted a three-run homer in the 6th inning.  Los
Angeles(AL) rapped out 13 hits for the afternoon.  
 
Haren(2-0) lasted until the end allowing 1 run for the win. The loss was
charged to Kevin Millwood(0-3).  Haren was asked about his big strikeout
performance, 'Well, it's a little odd when you rack up these numbers on the
road - instead of cheers and a running tally in the stands, everything gets
real still and quiet.  Just strange - but it's nice to be able to take the
crowd out of the game.'
