Justin Verlander had a complete game and shortstop Jhonny Peralta lofted one
into the 'cheap seats' and had 5 RBI as the Detroit Tigers defeated the
Minnesota Twins 9 to 4 at Comerica Park.

The home town fans were very appreciative of the fine hitting performance
provided by Peralta. He doubled plating two runs in the 1st inning and
rifled a three-run blast in the 5th inning. Both teams ended up with 9 hits
on the afternoon.

Verlander(3-0) got the victory, allowing 4 runs for the game. Samuel
Deduno(0-1) was tagged with the loss. He gave up 2 hits and 3 walks in 1/3
of an inning.
