At PETCO Park, the San Diego fans witnessed a great pitcher's duel.  Carlos
Villanueva(1-0) finally bested his San Diego opposite, Eric Stults(3-5), by
the score of 3 to 1.
 
Villanueva pitched a fine game.  He allowed 4 hits and 3 walks in 7 innings.
The game was a scoreless duel until the 7th inning.  
 
Kevin Gregg earned the save, his 6th.  Stults was the losing pitcher.  He
pitched 6 and 2/3 innings allowing only 4 hits and no walks.
