Giancarlo Stanton launched 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI as the Miami Marlins defeated the San Diego Padres by the score of 6 to 1 at PETCO Park. Stanton was a seemingly constant irritant to the hometown fans as he provided much of the offense for the visitors. He cracked a two-run shot in the 3rd inning and blasted a two-run home run in the 5th inning. Both teams finished the game with 7 hits. Nathan Eovaldi(4-1) allowed 1 run in 5 innings, and picked up the victory. Edinson Volquez(1-4) took the loss. He was not very effective, surrendering 6 runs in 5 innings.
