In a lop-sided win the Cleveland Indians ripped the Oakland A's by a 10 to 5
count.

Cleveland took the lead for good in the bottom of the 7th inning when they
tallied 3 runs on 3 hits. The critical plate appearance was by Kelly
Shoppach who made the Cleveland fans a happy lot when he belted a three-run
homer. Cleveland managed 12 hits in their victory.

The win went to Chris Perez(1-0) who allowed no runs in 2 and 1/3 innings.
Santiago Casilla(0-2) was the losing pitcher in relief. He pitched 1 inning
allowing 3 hits and no walks.

Cleveland now has a record of 9-9. Not able to get much going in recent
weeks, Oakland is 2-8 of late and now has an overall record of 4-14, worst in
the division.
