Catcher Kurt Suzuki went yard and Gio Gonzalez allowed Lee Michaels to rest
his bullpen, tossing a complete game at McAfee Coliseum where the Oakland A's
beat the Los Angeles(AL) Angels by the score of 9 to 2.

Oakland brought 4 runs across the plate in the 3rd inning with the help of 6
hits. That early scoring held up. Oakland rapped out 16 hits for the
afternoon.

Gonzalez(1-4) got the victory, allowing 2 runs for the game. The losing
pitcher was Ervin Santana(3-3). By giving up 7 runs in 4 innings his ERA
increased from 5.25 to 5.63.

'Ahhh, that victory was surely needed. Man alive, things were getting awfully
grim,' noted Lee Michaels. 'Now, we need to string a bunch of wins together
and turn things around!'
