Catcher Victor Martinez had 4 hits at Progressive Field as the Cleveland
Indians beat the Minnesota Twins by the count of 17 to 9.

Martinez had a good day at the plate. He delivered a one-base hit in the 2nd
inning, launched a rocket-shot out of the park for a Grand Slam homerun in
the 4th inning, doubled in the 6th inning and laced a single in the 7th
inning. Cleveland kept the scorekeepers busy in the 4th inning with 6 runs
on 7 hits and the 7th inning which saw them score 5 runs on 4 hits. Even
though they scored in 6 different innings, Minnesota was not able to pull off
the win.

The win was credited to Chris Perez(2-0) who went 2 and 2/3 innings allowing 3
runs. Rafael Betancourt was credited with his 1st save. Kevin Slowey(2-1)
was charged with the loss. He got hit pretty hard, allowing 14 hits and 3
walks in 4 innings.
