20,400 fans watched an exciting game at Nationals Park. The Arizona club
topped the Washington Nationals by the slimmest of margins, 3 to 2.

Edwin Jackson(3-0) earned his pay with a solid performance for Arizona. He
went 5 and 2/3 innings allowing 5 hits and 4 walks. Jackson whiffed an
impressive total of 8 Washington batters lowering his ERA from 4.19 to 3.60.
Washington threatened in the 9th but their rally came up short.

Juan Gutierrez gained credit for his 8th save. Scott Olsen(0-3) was the
losing pitcher. 'We didn't get the key hits when we needed them' Lee
Michaels said. 'We did what we could, we just didn't pull out the win. What
can you say?'
