Chicago (NL) Cubs broke the deadlock in their last at bats, pulling out a 1
to 0 win over the Cincinnati Reds and sending their hometown fans home
smiling.

Chicago (NL) won the game with a run in the bottom of the 9th inning. Jeff
Baker delivered a one-base hit. Blake Dewitt followed and he doubled.
Geovany Soto then drew a walk to load the bases. Marlon Byrd came up and he
singled resulting in an exciting win for Chicago (NL) and a raucous post-game
celebration by the home town fans. Chicago (NL) rapped out 7 hits for the
afternoon.

The winning pitcher was Andrew Cashner(1-0) who allowed no runs in 2 innings.
Bronson Arroyo(2-2) was the loser. He allowed 5 hits and 4 walks in 8
innings.

Chicago (NL) now has a record of 10-8. With the loss, Cincinnati has a record
of 6-4 lately, 8-5 overall.
