Livan Hernandez delivered 7 solid innings and shortstop Ian Desmond had 2 base
hits as the Washington Nationals bested the Philadelphia Phillies 3 to 2 at
Nationals Park.

The game started off with Washington taking the lead in the first scoring a
single run utilizing 2 base hits. Philadelphia made it exciting in the 9th,
but they were unable to push the needed runs across.

The victory went to Hernandez(4-2) who went 7 innings, allowing 1 run.
Hernandez got help from Matt Capps who earned his 6th save. The loss was
charged to Cole Hamels(2-3).
