The Baltimore Orioles enjoyed a blow-out, pounding the Chicago (AL) Whitesox
pitchers for 12 while Jake Arrieta(2-2)with bullpen support surrendered 2
runs to Chicago (AL).

Chicago (AL) never recovered after Baltimore took the lead in the 3rd inning
with 3 runs on 2 base hits. After an out was recorded, J.J. Hardy keyed the
rally when he reached on an error. Robert Andino stepped up next and he
clubbed a two-run home run. Adam Jones then blasted a solo shot. One out
later, Luke Scott struck out, unable to help the rally. That was all the
offense they were to need. Overall Baltimore out-hit Chicago (AL) 18 to 6.

Arrieta got help from Jo-Jo Reyes who was credited with his 1st save. Jake
Peavy(1-1) ended up with the loss. He was touched for 3 homeruns in his 6
innings of work.
