Seattle Mariners by the lopsided score of 12 to 0.
 
The game started off with Oakland taking the lead in the first when they
tallied 5 runs on 5 hits.  That was all the offense they were to need.
Oakland had a total of 14 hits for the game.  
 
McCarthy(3-0) was credited with the shutout. Felix Hernandez(2-2) was the
loser.  He couldn't find the plate, issuing 6 walks in 2 innings.  
 
'Our guys just weren't seeing the ball today.' Chris Couch said.  'McCarthy
simply dominated us.'
