Jair Jurrjens went 9 strong innings at Shea Stadium as the Atlanta Braves beat
the New York (NL) Mets 2 to 0.

Jurrjens(2-0) came through with a virtuoso performance against the New York
(NL) hitters. He didn't allow much, just 4 hits and 1 walk in 9 innings
lowering his ERA from 3.00 to 1.20. Atlanta had just 6 hits for the
afternoon.

Johan Santana(2-1) was the loser. 'He had his 'A' game today,' Dave Murray
said of Jurrjens. 'Very impressive performance.'
