Left fielder Juan Pierre had 2 base hits at Dodger Stadium as the Los
Angeles(NL) Dodgers pulled off a dramatic comeback beating the Cincinnati
Reds by the count of 6 to 5.

Los Angeles(NL) came up with the deciding runs in the bottom of the 9th inning
with 3 runs utilizing 4 base hits. Russell Martin led off and started the
rally when he drew a walk. Martin stole second with some aggressive base
running. Blake Dewitt then banged out a single. Angel Berroa was up next
and he delivered a base-hit. Rafael Furcal stepped into the box and
delivered a one-base hit. Luis Maza joined his teammates in the uprising and
reached on an error. After an out was recorded, Pierre came up and he
stroked a base-hit. Although they lost, Cincinnati did out-hit Los
Angeles(NL) 16 to 10.

The victory went to Hong-Chih Kuo(1-0) who went 4 innings, allowing no runs.
Francisco Cordero(0-2) was charged with the loss in relief.

'What a win!', Kuo said. 'These are the kind of games that stand out in your
mind at the end of a season.'
