Brad Hawpe ripped 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI and Aaron Cook came through with a
solid 9 innings as the Colorado Rockies topped the San Diego Padres by a
score of 6 to 1 at Coors Field.

Hawpe had a good day at the plate. He blasted a two-run home run in the 2nd
inning, cracked a solo homerun (his 2nd of the season) in the 4th inning and
stroked a one-base hit in the 5th inning. Colorado rapped out 10 hits for
the afternoon.

Cook(1-1) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 1 run. Cha Seung
Baek(1-1) was the losing pitcher. He allowed a few too many baserunners
giving up 8 hits and 2 walks in 4 and 1/3 innings.

When questioned about his counterpart after the game, Baek was lavish in his
praise, 'It was obvious very early on that we were going to be in for a long
night. Cook brought his 'A' game with him - he had good stuff and was able
to spot it perfectly. He probably only made one or two bad pitches the
entire game!
