The New York (NL) Mets edged the Cincinnati Reds in 10 innings at Shea Stadium
by the score of 4 to 3.

Both teams were tied at 1 runs apiece after nine innings. New York (NL) won
the game in the 10th inning. After an out was recorded, Damion Easley began
the rally when he drew a walk. Brian Schneider next to the plate and he drew
a walk. Moises Alou followed, but he was set down on strikes. Ramon Castro
came up and he belted a three-run homer (his 2nd of the season) resulting in
a mighty exciting win for New York (NL) and the 52,727 home town fans in
attendance. Although they lost, Cincinnati did out-hit New York (NL) 11 to
3.

Billy Wagner(3-0) went 2/3 of an inning allowing no runs for the win.
Francisco Cordero(0-1) was given the loss in relief. He pitched 2/3 of an
inning allowing 1 hit and 2 walks.
