Shortstop Orlando Cabrera had 4 hits at McAfee Coliseum where the Chicago (AL)

Oakland was unable to recover after Chicago (AL) went ahead in the 2nd inning
plating an isolated run. That early scoring held up. The pitchers took over
after the 4th inning as neither team was able to score again.

John Danks(1-0) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 8 and 1/3 innings.
Octavio Dotel gained credit for his 1st save. Dana Eveland(0-1) was given
