Greg Maddux came through with a solid 9 innings and James Loney had 2 base
hits at Dodger Stadium where the Los Angeles(NL) Dodgers beat the San Diego
Padres by the score of 1 to 0.

San Diego surrendered what proved to be the only run of the contest when Los
Angeles(NL) scored in the bottom of the 7th inning. San Diego had a chance
in the 9th but they came up short.

Maddux(3-1) went the distance for the shutout. The loss was charged to Cha
Seung Baek(2-4). He pitched 6 innings giving up only 2 hits and 2 walks.
