At Minute Maid Park, the Houston fans witnessed a great pitcher's duel. Chris
Sampson(1-0) finally bested his Philadelphia opposite, Joe Blanton(0-1), by
the score of 3 to 0.

Houston took the lead for keeps in the 2nd inning plating an isolated run on 2
hits. That scoring would be all that was needed. The pitchers took over
after the 3rd inning as neither team was able to score again.

Sampson got relief help from Tim Byrdak who gained credit for his 1st save.
Blanton was charged with the loss.
