Joe Nathan was great in relief and Carlos Gomez had 2 base hits and 3 RBI at
Metrodome where the Minnesota Twins beat the Los Angeles(AL) Angels 7 to
6.
In the 4th inning Minnesota scored 5 runs with the help of 6 hits. The
crucial at-bat was provided by Gomez who excited the crowd when he lined a
base-hit scoring two baserunners. Minnesota totaled 13 hits on the
afternoon.
Glen Perkins(1-0) got the win allowing 5 runs in 6 innings. Nathan gained
credit for his 3rd save. Jon Garland(1-1) was the loser. He was knocked
around pretty good, giving up 7 runs in 6 innings.
'It wasn't my best outing, but I'll take the win' Perkins said.
