Hank Blalock connected with a 'big fly' and had 4 RBI as the Texas Rangers
defeated the Chicago (AL) Whitesox by the score of 9 to 3 at US Cellular
Field.

Blalock had a good day at the plate. He lost the ball over the fence for
three runs (his 2nd of the season) in the 1st inning and stroked a base-hit
bringing in a run in the 7th inning. Texas had 13 hits for the afternoon
while Chicago (AL) had 6.

Scott Feldman(1-1) allowed 3 runs in 8 innings, and picked up the victory.
Javier Vazquez(1-1) suffered the loss. He was knocked around, surrendering 5
runs in 4 and 1/3 innings.
