33,368 fans were treated to a fine game at Fenway Park as only one run
separated the combatants at game's end. The Boston Redsox won by the
slimmest of margins, 3 to 2.

The score was tied at 2 after nine. Boston came out on top in the 10th
inning. After two outs Jason Varitek blasted a solo shot (his 1st of the
season) resulting in an exciting win for Boston and a raucous post-game
celebration by the home town fans. Boston ended up with 9 hits for the game
while Baltimore had 3.

Justin Masterson(2-1) went 2 innings allowing no runs for the win. Dennis
Sarfate(1-2) was tagged with the loss in relief. He surrendered 1 run and 2
hits in 3 innings.
