In a dramatic ending the Kansas City Royals staged a comeback and held on to
win over the Minnesota Twins by the count of 3 to 1.

Kansas City came up with the deciding runs in the 9th inning scoring 3 runs
using 3 hits. Jose Guillen got things going when he doubled. Billy Butler
stepped up next and he stroked a single. Mark Teahen followed, but he was
set down on strikes. Miguel Olivo came up and he reached on an error. After
another out, Mike Aviles came up and he banged out a single. David Dejesus
added to the uprising and drew a walk. Kansas City had 10 hits for the
afternoon while Minnesota had 7.

The victory was credited to Ramon Ramirez(1-1) who went 1 and 2/3 innings,
allowing no runs. Joakim Soria earned the save, his 4th. Joe Nathan(1-1) was
the loser in relief.

John Thomas was not very talkative after his team's tough loss. 'I'm not in
the mood for questions, but I'm sure Lee Michaels will be glad to talk about
the game as long as you have questions to ask.'
