In a dramatic ending at SAFECO Field the Seattle Mariners won in their last
at-bat beating the Oakland A's by the count of 4 to 3.

Seattle scored the deciding run in the bottom of the 9th inning. Bryan Lahair
doubled. Willie Bloomquist next to the plate and he laid down a sacrifice
bunt. Tug Hulett then stroked a base-hit giving Seattle the victory as
39,101 happy fans celebrated wildly. The teams had been locked in a
scoreless duel until the 6th inning.

The victory went to J.J. Putz(1-2) who went 2/3 of an inning, allowing no
runs. The loss was charged to Brad Ziegler(0-3) in relief. He allowed 2 hits
and no walks in 1/3 of an inning.
