Bobby Crosby had 4 hits and 2 RBI and Barry Zito threw a complete game shutout
as the Oakland A's beat the New York (AL) Yankees by a score of 9 to 0.

The home town fans were very appreciative of the fine hitting performance
provided by Crosby. He stroked a base-hit in the 4th inning, tripled in the
5th inning, ripped a solo home run (his 2nd of the season) in the 7th inning
and laced a base-knock resulting in a run in the 8th inning. Oakland had 13
hits for the night.

It was the 2nd shutout of the year for Zito(5-2). Randy Johnson(5-2) was given
the loss. He was unable to control the Oakland offense and allowed 12 hits
and 2 walks in 7 and 2/3 innings.
