At Tropicana Field, the Tampa Bay fans witnessed a great pitcher's duel.
James Shields(3-3) finally bested his Baltimore opposite, David
Hernandez(1-1), by the score of 2 to 1.

Tampa Bay scored 2 runs in the decisive bottom of the 6th inning with the help
of 3 hits. They would be enough to earn the win. Tampa Bay totaled 7 hits
on the afternoon.

Lance Cormier preserved the game for Shields, recording his his 2nd.
Hernandez was the loser. He saw his ERA jump from 1.42 to 1.86 as gave up 2
runs in 6 and 2/3 innings.
