In a game at SAFECO Field the Seattle Mariners got by the Oakland A's by the
score of 4 to 1.

Oakland never recovered after Seattle took the lead in the bottom of the 2nd
inning scoring one runner on 2 base hits. After an out was recorded, Jose
Lopez hit a bases-empty home run. Bill Hall stepped up next and he doubled.
Russell Branyan was the next batter, but he struck out. Although they lost,
Oakland did out-hit Seattle 12 to 8.

The victory went to Felix Hernandez(4-3) who went 8 and 2/3 innings, allowing
1 run. David Aardsma preserved the game for Hernandez, recording his his
10th. Trevor Cahill(1-6) ended up with the loss. He pitched 7 and 1/3
innings allowing 8 hits and 1 walk.
