The Seattle Mariners easily topped the Texas Rangers; the final score was 7 to
1.

Seattle jumped on top to stay in the top of the 5th inning when they came up
with 2 runs on 2 hits. The biggest moment was provided by Mike Sweeney who
disappointed the partisan crowd when he doubled which was good for two runs.
Seattle had 11 hits for the afternoon while Texas had 4.

Brandon Morrow(1-0) went 5 and 1/3 innings allowing 1 run for the victory.
Morrow got relief help from Mark Lowe who gained credit for his 1st save.
Brandon McCarthy(0-1) took the loss.
