Scott Baker completed the game without help from the bullpen and first baseman
Justin Morneau touched them all and had 3 RBI as the Minnesota Twins defeated
the Kansas City Royals by a score of 6 to 2 at Metrodome.

Kansas City was unable to claim the lead after Minnesota went ahead in the
bottom of the 4th inning with 2 runs on 2 hits. Joe Crede was the sparkplug
when he hit a bases-empty home run. Michael Cuddyer came to the plate and
was hit by a pitch. Two outs later Denard Span stepped up to the plate and
he laced a base-knock. Span took second on the throw. Minnesota finished
with 13 hits in the victory.

The win went to Baker(5-2) who allowed 2 runs in the game. Brian
Bannister(3-4) was the loser. He was not very effective, surrendering 6 runs
in 4 and 1/3 innings.

When questioned about his counterpart after the game, Bannister was lavish in
his praise, 'It was obvious very early on that we were going to be in for a
long night. Baker brought his 'A' game with him - he had good stuff and was
able to spot it perfectly. He probably only made one or two bad pitches the
entire game!
