Toronto had 4 runs cross the plate in the 5th inning when they had 3 base
hits. The crucial at-bat was provided by John Buck who made the Toronto fans
a happy lot when he stroked a base-hit bringing in two baserunners. Although
they lost, New York (AL) did out-hit Toronto 9 to 6.

Shaun Marcum(1-1) was the winner allowing 3 runs in 6 and 2/3 innings. Marcum
got help from David Purcey who was credited with his 1st save. C.C.
Sabathia(1-2) was the loser.
