Left fielder Brett Gardner slammed a homerun and had 6 RBI as the New York
(AL) Yankees crushed the Baltimore Orioles 15 to 1.

Gardner had a big day with his bat. He smashed a two-run homer in the 2nd
inning, doubled which brought home a run in the 6th inning and tripled
emptying the bases in the 6th inning. New York (AL) lit up the scoreboard in
the 6th inning which saw them plate 9 runs on 6 hits. New York (AL) had 16
hits for the game and Baltimore had 11.

The victory went to A.J. Burnett(1-1) who went 6 innings, allowing 1 run.
Burnett got help from Ivan Nova who was credited with his 1st save. Jeremy
Guthrie(0-3) took the loss. He allowed 4 homeruns in 5 innings of work.
