Oakland wasted no time and took the lead in the first inning when they tallied
2 runs on 4 hits. The crucial at-bat was provided by Jack Cust who helped
quiet the crowd when he delivered a one-base hit scoring two baserunners.
Oakland rapped out 8 hits for the afternoon.

The win was credited to Dallas Braden(1-0) who went 7 innings allowing 2 runs.
Braden got help from Andrew Bailey who was credited with his 1st save. Gavin
Floyd(1-1) absorbed the loss. He allowed Oakland 4 runs in 3 innings of
