Paul Maholm reeled off a total of 10 strikeouts and Brian McCann blasted a
homerun and had 2 RBI at Citi Field as the Atlanta Braves beat the New York
(NL) Mets 6 to 2.
 
Maholm(5-2) had a solid outing for Atlanta.  He went 8 and 2/3 innings
surrendering 9 hits and 5 walks.  Atlanta finished with 8 hits in the
victory.  
 
Craig Kimbrel earned his 9th save.  The losing pitcher was Dillon Gee(0-1).
Maholm was humble when questioned about his performance, 'Well, I felt pretty
confident in my pitches this afternoon.  But, I had great support behind me
and I just threw what was called.  That was an extremely well called game!'
