Left fielder Juan Pierre collected 2 extra-base hits as the Philadelphia
Phillies defeated the Washington Nationals 3 to 2 at Citizens Bank
Park.

Kyle Kendrick(2-1) won the game with a masterful relief performance. No one
got on base in his perfect 2 innings. Washington had a chance to come back
in the 9th but they came up short.

Jonathan Papelbon gained credit for his 10th save. Jordan Zimmermann(1-3) was
charged with the loss. He pitched 7 innings allowing 8 hits and 2 walks.
