Brandon Beachy delivered 8 solid innings as the Atlanta Braves bested the
Cincinnati Reds 4 to 1 at Turner Field.
Atlanta wasted no time and took the lead in the first inning scoring a single
run. Michael Bourn doubled. Martin Prado stepped up next and he drew a
walk. After another out, Chipper Jones then hit a sacrifice fly. Freddie
Freeman was up next and he was walked intentionally. Overall Atlanta out-hit
Cincinnati 7 to 2.
Beachy(2-0) went 8 innings allowing 1 run for the victory. Beachy got help
from Craig Kimbrel who was credited with his 7th save. Mat Latos(4-2) was
the loser.
The Atlanta ballclub's record now stands at 10-12. With this loss, Cincinnati
has a 6-4 record of late, 16-10 overall.
