Josh Beckett tossed a complete game as the Boston Redsox beat the Los
Angeles(AL) Angels by a score of 9 to 2.

Boston drew first blood jumping out to an early lead in the first inning
scoring 2 runners on 3 hits. The crucial at-bat was provided by Jason Bay
who helped quiet the crowd when he ripped a base-hit scoring two baserunners.
Boston had 13 hits for the afternoon.

The winning pitcher was Beckett(3-1) who allowed 2 runs for the game. Matt
Palmer(1-1) suffered the loss. He gave up 8 runs in 6 innings and saw his
ERA jump from 2.63 to 5.49.
