A.J. Burnett held Kansas City to 2 hits and Robinson Cano lofted one into the
'cheap seats' and had 2 RBI as the New York (AL) Yankees defeated the Kansas
City Royals 9 to 1 at Yankee Stadium.

New York (AL) wasted no time and took the lead in the first inning when they
came up with 6 runs on 6 hits. That early run support was all that
Burnett(2-0) required. New York (AL) banged out 10 hits on the afternoon.

Zack Greinke(3-1) took the loss. He allowed 3 homeruns in 5 and 1/3 innings
of work. 'When Burnett is on like that it is a tough game to play, no doubt
about it,' Lee Michaels said. 'He always pitches well against us.'
