Center fielder Vernon Wells cracked 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI at Rogers Centre
where the Toronto Bluejays beat the Boston Redsox by the score of 8 to
1.

Wells had a big day at the plate. He smashed a solo-shot out of the park in
the 2nd inning, doubled in the 3rd inning and rifled a three-run blast in the
8th inning. Boston was out-hit by Toronto, 13 hits to 2.

Scott Richmond(2-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 6 innings and
allowing 1 run. Clay Buchholz(0-1) was given the loss. 'I had good swings
today,' Wells said, 'Everything felt right'.
