In a close game the Minnesota Twins got by the Detroit Tigers by the score of

Minnesota had the winning rally in the bottom of the 8th inning scoring 4
runners on 3 hits. The crucial at-bat was provided by Jason Kubel who
electrified Metrodome when he doubled plating two runs. For the game
Minnesota out-hit Detroit 10 to 6.

The victory was credited to Matt Guerrier(1-0) who went 1 and 1/3 innings,
allowing no runs. Joe Nathan got the save, his 1st. Luke French(0-1)
absorbed the loss in relief.
