The Chicago (AL) Whitesox and the Baltimore Orioles locked up in an exciting
one-run game at US Cellular Field.  The final score was the Chicago (AL)
Whitesox 8, the Baltimore Orioles 7 in 12 innings.
 
Both teams had scored 7 runs after nine full innings.  Finally, Chicago (AL)
pulled the game out in the 12th inning.  After an out was recorded, Paul
Konerko ripped a solo home run making Chicago (AL) the victors to the delight
of the home town faithful.  Baltimore out-hit Chicago (AL) 18 to 14, but
Chicago (AL) ended up with more runs.  
 
Will Ohman(2-0) allowed no runs in 1 and 2/3 innings, and picked up the
victory. Jason Berken(0-1) was the loser in relief.  He gave up 1 hit and no
walks in 1/3 of an inning.
