Catcher Jose Molina hit a homerun as the Toronto Bluejays defeated the Houston
Astros 5 to 2 at Rogers Centre.
Toronto came through with the game-winning runs in the 8th inning plating 3
runs on 4 hits. Molina got things rolling when he smashed a solo-shot out of
the park. John McDonald stepped into the batter's box and he lined a
base-hit. Rajai Davis then doubled. After an out was recorded, Eric Thames
came to the plate and ripped a one-base hit. Houston was out-hit by Toronto,
15 hits to 8.
The win went to Carlos Villanueva(4-0) who allowed 2 runs in 8 and 2/3
innings. Villanueva got help from Frank Francisco who was credited with his
3rd save. Sergio Escalona(0-1) was the losing pitcher in relief. He pitched
2/3 of an inning giving up 2 hits and 1 walk.
