At O.co Coliseum, the Oakland faithful were treated to an intriguing pitcher's
duel. Bud Norris(1-3) finally bested his Oakland counterpart, Gio
Gonzalez(3-3), by the score of 1 to 0.

Oakland surrendered what proved to be the only run of the contest when Houston
scored in the 5th inning. Oakland threatened in the 9th but Houston was able
to put down the rally.

Mark Melancon earned his 7th save. Gonzalez was given the loss. He pitched 7
innings giving up 4 hits and 3 walks. 'We didn't get the key hits when we
needed them' Lee Michaels said. 'We did what we could, we just didn't pull
out the win. What can you say?'
