Michael Cuddyer hit one over the fence and had 3 RBI at Comerica Park as the
Minnesota Twins embarrassed the Detroit Tigers by the lopsided score of 16 to
2.
 
Cuddyer had a big day against Detroit.  He laced a single in the 3rd inning,
blasted a two-run home run in the 7th inning and banged out a one-base hit
plating a run in the 9th inning.  Minnesota kept the scorekeepers busy in the
7th inning when they had 5 runs on 4 hits and the 9th inning which saw them
score 7 runs on 3 hits.  Minnesota had 14 hits for the game and Detroit had
10.  
 
Nick Blackburn(2-0) allowed 1 run in 7 innings, and picked up the victory.
Rick Porcello(1-2) was the loser.  He pitched 5 and 2/3 innings and
surrendered 6 hits and 5 walks.
