Geovany Soto blasted a homerun and had 4 RBI as the Texas Rangers outscored
the Detroit Tigers 7 to 5.
 
Soto enjoyed a big day at the plate.  He lined a single in the 5th inning,
lofted a three-run 'big-fly' in the 6th inning and ripped a one-base hit
bringing in a run in the 7th inning.  Texas had 12 hits overall, while
Detroit had 9.  
 
Tanner Scheppers(1-0) was the winner allowing no runs in 2 innings. Scheppers
got relief help from Joe Nathan who gained credit for his 6th save.  Max
Scherzer(3-3) ended up with the loss.  He was not very effective,
surrendering 6 runs in 5 and 1/3 innings.
